Green Thumb, Part 1
You’ve probably already guessed from the title of this post that we’re tackling eco-friendly wedding tips. Well, if you did, you guessed right! Ashelynn Manor works with all sorts of brides, and while some prefer a traditional event, others are looking for ways to implement environmentally-friendly details into their nuptials. Whichever you prefer, we’re here to help! There are a lot of ideas floating around out there, so we nailed down a few just for you…
Chalkboards: They are the new age of wedding paper materials. No longer must you print a million programs, plus menus, wedding signs and more. Any kind of chalkboard friendly surface can take the place of paper—plus you can do it yourself or hire a professional artist to create masterpieces of your bidding! Rustic signs, chic surfaces, it’s all your canvas. Plus, they look terrific propped up around our scenic grounds.
Local Focus: Farm-to-table menus are still as big as ever, but the movement to keep things local is just as hot. Call on your neighborhood vendors for everything from your wedding day china to locally grown produce to help minimize your carbon footprint and support your own local economy.
Green Registries: Yes, these actually exist. If you’ve never seen one before, take note! So many stores, both chains and local businesses, have begun to stock enviro-friendly products like home wares and accessories. All it takes is a little homework—or simply turning to your favorite eco-savvy resource—to create a registry that both fulfills your desire to sustain the Earth and fill your home with the things you need.
